As photographers, you already have the right gears for beautiful photo-taking and mastered valuable photo editing skills. You only need to figure out what to do with these ready photos to make you extra money on the side!

In this article, I’ll be sharing 15 print on demand websites for photographers to sell photos online – where some offers photo print services for photographers.I’ve also included a list of print on demand products I highly suggest you try to sell your photography shots on, plus available integrations you can tap into.

One of the major POD company in the market is Printify. It offers multiple plug-&-sell integrations including Etsy, Amazon and Shopify.

The site is perfect for beginners or photographers alike as the catalog is wide-ranging with affordable prices. You can sell your photographs as art prints, posters, acrylic prints and smaller items like magnets or metal ornaments.

Just like any other print on demand company, Printify handles the fulfillment and ships products directly to customers for you. All you need to do is make sales!

Here’s an actual photo I took while travelling in Florence, Italy. I uploaded it to a horizontal framed poster on Printify and created a basic context mock up.

Printful works similar to Printify but it offers a lot more integration options – including TikTok Shop. So if you’re a photographer with a good following on TikTok, consider promoting your photography merchandise by linking to them easily.

Generally, across my product guides, I find that there are lesser product options on Printful compared to Printify. However, it is still one of the best POD sites to use for beginners as there are a lot of helpful resources online to guide you.

Here’s a sample of a print on demand postcard I created on Printful using a photo I took in Portugal. I uploaded my own image, added a map clipart from Printful’s library and included some text so others know it’s from me!

You can see that there’s three different layers on the left tab and each can be customized to your liking.

3. Gelato

Just like Printify, Gelato works with multiple printing partners all over the world. When browsing their products, you can easily see how many countries a product is fulfilled in. Some goes over 20!

Gelato also does not carry as many products as Printify but you can find a few good ones for photographers to sell. This includes photo books, wall art, greeting cards and even wallpapers.

You can use Gelato with a popular ecommerce platforms like Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce and Squarespace. Using it is free but there are few subscription options you can upgrade to – explore them once you make enough profit to cover the cost!

4. Prodigi

If you’re looking to sell your photographs on primarily wall art and paper products, Prodigi is a great fulfillment to use. Their canvas art,art printsand framed art prints are made of great quality materials.

Doubt if the quality is any good?Prodigi lets you order a sample pack to test out! The package consists of their best selling art papers in mini forms, made with the same printing quality as your customers will get.

They ship orders mainly from the UK and also work with 50 manufacturing partners in over 10 countries worldwide.

Here’s a sample of Prodigi’s photo papers that came with the sample pack I ordered from them. When I got them, they were entirely free of charge. It included these six types of photo papers that had different textures, thickness and weight.

I would recommend Prodigi thanks to their professional print services for photographers and artists alike. Not every POD company looks into the details of paper materials!

I personally love the smooth photo paper (second from right in image above) as it’s not too heavy or too light. It has yellow paper hues that kind of reminds me of older papers (I’m pretty sentimental!).

5. Merchize

While other sites are shipping some products from parts of Asia, Merchize is one of the many POD sites that is actually based in Vietnam. They ship orders worldwide and offers a wide selection of all-over-print products you can sell photographs on.

Some of the all-over-print products you can sell using Merchize are pillows, blankets, aprons and mugs. This excludes their long list of AOP apparels!

All-over-printing basically means your design or image will cover the entire external surface area of the product, leaving no area blank.

6. SPOD

If you have heard about Spreadshirt, you would love SPOD. SPOD is another brand under the Spreadshirt Group that looks to serve the white label print on demand market.

They have six major integration options including OrderDesk – an alternative to connect to popular marketplaces like eBay, Etsy, and Amazon.

Though SPOD’s catalog is quite wide-ranging, I would generally recommend to steer away from apparels and focus more on accessories or wall art. Some things you can design with SPOD that are suitable for photographers are stickers, drinkware, phone cases and posters.

7. Displate

Feeling stuck and unsure of what products to sell? On Displate, the main item to design is a metal poster. You don’t have to think much as designing a poster is pretty straightforward – quite like canvas art and tote bags.

If you promote your own product link on other social media platforms, you can earn as much as 41% commission of net sale value for purchases. Purchasing your own design on Displates also gets you 50% discount off the retail price.

They also run limited edition sales from time to time and your designs may get chosen!

8. Gooten

If you have prior experience in print on demand, Gooten is a good site to join. Though it’s free like others, Gooten only take in sellers with a ready store to sell and prefers those with experience.

Gooten’s products are pretty similar to the ones found on Gelato. However, there is a greater selection for you to explore including non-apparel products like home décor, pet products and accessories.

A UK-based print on demand fulfillment with a long list of unique custom printed products is Contrado. You either integrate your store via Shopify or join Contrado as an artist to sell directly on their marketplace.

As you browse, you may feel that their products are slightly pricey compared to others in this list but it’s well worth it for the quality and service you’re getting.Their photo books come with a 5-year printing guarantee – just shows you’re in good hands as a seller.

Other interesting items you can sell your photographs on with Contrado are acrylic photo blocks, playmats, party plates, round clocks, laptop cases and album storage boxes. The possibilities are endless!

10. INPRNT

If you’re a professional photographer with a portfolio of artwork available online, INPRNT is way to push your work to the next level. Unlike others, you’ll have to submit some samples of your art when applying to join INPRNT and they will evaluate it before approving your application.

As a photographer that takes pride in your work, you may experience great joy in having your shots printed on merchandise and sharing them with others. On INPRNT, you look like a professional and won’t be seen as just another person making amateur designs to make a quick buck online.

Though Redbubble seems more inclined to graphics instead of photography, it’s possible for you to enjoy the best of both worlds. Using simple tools like Canva or even Photoshop, you can turn your photographs to edited graphics and add a hint of typography.

Otherwise, selling your unedited photographs on Redbubble’s wall art like posters, tapestries and photographic prints is a straightforward task.

12. Teespring (Spring)

The one feature on Zazzle that I love the most is customers can personalize their purchase (if you enable it for them) – sample down below. Users are also able to connect with other creators on the platform to share knowledge and get professional feedback.

On top of that, Zazzle’s creators get a 15% off discount if they purchase Adobe Creative Cloud.

14. Fine Art America

If you’re looking for a marketplace that’s more suited for photography, Fine Art America is your best alternative. They have been in the POD industry since the early 2000s and though their product mockups look slightly dated, it should not deter you from making sales.

Fine Art America has a huge database of customers and to further expand your business, your designs can be sold in physical retail stores by FAA (over 150 locations). By selling on FAA, you are also selling on their other websites (just branded differently) e.g. Pixels and Pixels On Demand.

You may also like that sellers are able to price their products freely and keep 100% profits for digital downloads! Not all photography prints are needed as physical copies.

15. CustomCat

There aren’t a lot of products you can sell with CustomCat but it’s one of the few POD sites that offers DIGISOFT printing technology on apparels. If you’re keen on selling your photographs on apparels, CustomCat is for you.

How To Sell Prints As A Photographer With Print On Demand

1. Choose a niche for your online business
   • Niching down is great to attract the right audience with your print on demand products
   • Some examples would be travel photos, photos of nature or even photos of food
   • Focus on your chosen niche for the next 100 products!
2. Do research on best selling and trendy concepts
   • Before creating any product, find out what’s working in the market
   • A quick trick is to Google, search for them on Etsy or use Merch Informer
3. Sign up for an account with any of the sites I’ve listed above
   • You’ll have to create an account with one of the sites I’ve mentioned above to start selling
   • Choose one supplier that resonates to you the most with the right products you’ve envisioned for your business
4. Upload images to products
   • Uploading images or designs to supplier’s products is super easy and you should be able to do this once an account is created
   • Position the design correctly when uploading as the actual product will look the same as what you see online
   • Some important things to know are design file sizes and printing layout (if any)
5. Set a suitable profit margin for each product
   • On most sites, you should be able to set a selling price once you’ve done uploading the design
   • A suitable margin should be 40%-50% depending on the platform you’re selling on and any fees you’ll incur on each sale
   • This excludes shipping charges to customers!
6. Sync them to your ecommerce store
   • You would need to integrate your ecommerce store e.g.EtsyorShopifyor via API before you’re able to sell so do that first
   • Sync the ready product to your store to start selling them publicly
