Anyone know where to find a Razer blade battery that works? Razer 14 2017. Bought two and each one will not work without being plugged in.

Did your warranty expire?

There should be an option to limit battery charging up to 75/80% to increase battery longevity.

I think both Asus and Lenovo have this feature and honestly its a must for any gaming laptop. You want to be playing games while charging and hence a battery charging limitation stops it from over charging. I don't know why so many companies don't offer this feature.

Yup, very useful small feature to extend battery longevity.

Hope to see this in some Synapse update, but we'll see...

Yeah, last timed I opened up my blade I noticed my battery is starting to appear a little bloated after barely two years, will definetely get it changed before my warranty goes off

My warranty's way past expired. Do you know if they sell replacement batteries at all? Because the laptop is still in great condition, don't want to have to retire it just because of battery issues.

Well shared!!

I don't think there are official batteries being sold, my best guess is that there are unbranded/third party batteries that will work without problem, but if you have a Razer AFK near you go and try asking there [SUPPORT VIDEO] How to Optimize the Battery Life of Your Razer Blade | Razer Insider (4)

Now that I know your model is 2011 I would suggest you not even bothering in an irl store and just buying a compatible battery online.

this is exactly what i needed

sadly, more and more laptops have internal batteries. may not even be able to get replacement batteries to change on our own even if we know how to.

Thanks! I'm just looking for that!

that's why I always check ifixit's repairability score before buying any tech product!

Managing the heat from the Blade will help optimize the battery life also

I feel very lucky now that live in a cold country like germany hahah

New Zealand is not the most Southern country in the Southern hemisphere, but not close to equator.

Considering the battery bloat problems and the new laptops which are expected to pack the most heat ever (175W + 50W min is no joke), the temperatures of the laptop's external body would be insanely high.

Now, batteries degrade faster if they are exposed to high temperatures. They degrade insanely FASTER if they are also ABOVE 80% whilst being at high temps. And almost all the Razer Blade users keep them plugged in.

Every other laptop manufacturer out there offers a way to limit the full battery charge. Asus, HP, Lenovo, Acer, XMG - you name it. You just set the max battery charge in % (usually it's 60/80/100%) in BIOS and/or software - and there you go, Windows instantly stops charging the battery once it reaches 60%.

This could and WILL save batteries in the future. Please ADD BATTERY MANAGEMENT TO SYNAPSE

I use my 2020 Razer Blade 17 (2080Super) connected to a desk, TB4 dock (keyboard, Nommo Pro, etc..), and monitor. To reduce concerns about wearing out the power adapter and the battery constantly being maxed out to 100%, I have a switch that cuts power to the entire desk.

(I really wish Razer would implement a battery charge limiter ability).

One issue with this is that it seems like the TB4 dock (Razer) or other things are drawing power from the laptop when power to the dock is off. This discharges the laptop's battery and causes an additional charging cycle and for me to have low battery if I have to pick the laptop up and leave without having charged it first.

I've tried an online guide that indicated it will let you turn off USB power when the laptop is off, but it didn't seem to work. Does anyone have a suggestion to fix this?

I appreciate you guys!

Sincerely,

Reais
